Warner Music Asia Launches Whet Records

Chinese language DJ-producer Lizzy Wang is the label’s first signing.

The main label dance music enlargement into Asia continues at this time with Warner Music Asia’s launch of Whet Data. Servicing pan-Asia, the label will probably be operated by Jonathan Serbin, the CEO of Warner Music Higher China.

A dance music veteran and the previous head of Billboard Asia and CEO of Mixmag Asia, Serbin has served as govt producer on tracks by digital artists together with KSHMR, Ferry Corsten, Steve Aoki and Jane Zhang. He based Whet Data in xx and goals to work with rising and established artists to offer distribution, advertising, administration and extra.

“Whet will mix the ability of Warner Music’s community and experience with the DNA of a real digital music label,” Simon Robson, Warner’s President of Worldwide Recorded Music, says in a press release. “Jonathan has labored shortly to get this off the bottom and we’re excited to indicate the world the expertise brewing all through Asia.”
